New Cathedral Cemetary, Philadelphia

This is the tombstone for an ancestor of mine. The symbol looks similar to the Masonry symbol but I can not confirm this. Can someone help me? As far as I know, he owned a liquor business in his thirties up until his death. I can not find any history of what he did after he came to America in his late teens until his thirties.
